WHO

Anyone interested in being part of a fun, friendly, inclusive group of people who love to skate! Kids and adults! All genders welcome!

Want to learn how to roller skate? Then it's you!

This year for 2025-2026, we are only looking to recruit adult skaters 16+.

WHAT

We're starting our season and looking for new skaters to join us. We are looking for adult skaters for our adult/level 3 teams.

We start with skating lessons! Learn all the basics and then some. Gliding, stopping, falling safely, etc.

Zero experience is necessary!

Our first night (September 3rd, 2025) may include:

Information about the league, gear, fees, etc.
A chance to register
A Roller Derby demonstration
A chance to try out Roller Derby for yourself (In your shoes!)
Time permitting you will be able to put on some skates and try skating.

The first night is FREE!

Please wear Runners and workout appropriate clothing.

Bring a helmet as this will not be provided for you. (You cannot skate without a helmet)

We have some limited sizing in loaner gear you can try out if you haven't got your own gear.

(We also recommend bringing water!)

WHEN

On the 3rd, please arrive early if you need to be fitted for gear. We will begin at 7:00 PM for ADULTS. (Plan to arrive 15-20 minutes early for gear fitting.)

Our practices are every Monday and Wednesday night. (Subject to holidays and venue availability.)

After the 3rd:

6:00PM - 7:00PM: Pilot Lights + Igniters practice. (Junior teams!)

7:00PM - 8:30PM: Inferno and New adult practice. (All adults and approved level 3 juniors, as well as all new adult skaters!)

Arrive 10-15 minutes early to get your gear on!

For the Fall and Winter we will be at the Cypress Centre Pavilion

WHY

Roller Derby can be intimidating! The great thing about us is that we will teach you how to skate, how to be safe, and you'll learn all about the rules of the sport. BEFORE you actually play, giving you a chance for a solid foundation for your first game!

No experience is necessary, at all!

This is your chance to learn not only how to roller skate, but everything you want and need to know about the sport and the league.

If you're not interested in playing Derby, but want to stay involved, we can also train you how to Ref or how to be a Non-Skating official! These are crucial and super fun roles within the amazing Roller Derby community.
